Preping for storage
Sheena had been in the sea for a while and the engine raw water cooling system had therefore been operating with salt water. To help with long term storage of the engine we ran then engine while flushing the raw water cooling system with clean tap water to remove any remaining salt deposits. Other items not required to be onboard the boat were removed for storage inside or disposal.

The wind is getting up
It's getting windy outside so another morning of finishing off jobs. The new workbench has now been levelled; the floor on which the workbench sits is designed to self drain so is not flat. To level the workbench we have cut packing blocks for each leg which have now been fitted.
In one area we have a room which has a 25cm step down through the door. To avoid trip accidents we have put up warning signs and warning paint & tape around the top of the step.
We spent some time tracing the building plumbing to find out is we could get a water tap working in our compound. Unfortunately it looks like we can't at the moment so another job on this list will be to install a new water pipe to the compound.
Finally some time was spent investigating a donated planar/thicknesser.

Sheena moved to Stromness
The previously Shapinsay based motor vessel Sheena was today lifted out of the water in Kirkwall and transported to the Old Herring Factory storage facility in Stromness. Sheena will be stored in the compound for the time being as she is too large to currently get inside.
